Texas Boys Choir and Singing Girls of Texas Selected for State Touring Roster

The Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) accepted the TBC and SGT to their Texas Touring Artists and Companies Roster.  The program is designed to ensure that all Texans have the ability to enjoy performances by outstanding Texas-based companies/artists.  This appointment is in effect from Sept. 1, 2008 until Aug. 31, 2010.

The Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) provides grants to help with the costs of bringing in the companies and artists from this roster.   To be accepted to this roster, an artist must have a history of touring and must be willing to travel at least 30 miles to do a performance. They are also required to maintain a reasonable fee range. The Touring Artists Advisory Panel evaluates the quality of the applicants to this program.

Cultural Connections Performance Support is the companion grant program that allows performing arts presenters in Texas to apply for a portion of the artistic fees for one or more approved companies or artists from the Texas Touring Company and Artist Roster. This is a mini-grant program that can provide a grant to help with these costs. These applications must be submitted in advance of the performance.

On the TCA website, presenters, who are interested in booking an artist, will find the roster and contact information alongside each entry.  The presenter must contact the company or artist to arrange booking dates and enter into a formal contractual agreement specifying the date(s) of the engagement and fee.  Presenters may apply for a portion of the fee for a company or artist.
